We are looking for Disc Jockeys who enjoy rock music and want to bring their own flavor to the radio station. Please contact Craig if you are interested in being a Disc Jockey for this station by sending an e-mail to craig@rockr.us; note that our DJ's are not paid and do this for a hobby.

As for the DJ's, we do have regular jobs and DJ as a hobby. We hope to keep our regularly scheduled times but other responsibilities may keep us from doing shows at our posted times. If you would like to know when any of the DJ's intend to be on-air, send an e-mail to the DJ. You can also check out the Schedules page.

Craig

I am a native New Orleanian and have been listening to music for as long as I can remember. Being the son of a musician and the youngest of five children, I was exposed to many forms of music ranging from my fathers big band musical taste to my siblings likes for 60's and 70's rock music covering many styles. I started going to live concerts at the age of 11 and have been enjoying live concerts ever since that time. I have a large live rock collection and have accumulated a pretty significant music library over the years and will bring that to this radio station.

I got my start as a DJ on MODRN, thanks to station owner Lexi, and remained until the station closed down in February of 2005. I had never DJ'd before nor since that time and am an amateur when it comes to broadcasting. My passion for bringing music other than the top 100 hits to the internet was the catalyst for getting behind the mic at MODRN and is the same thing that has driven me to start this radio station. More than anything, I hope to turn people on to some great music from the past that they never had the chance to hear. Whether anyone hears me or not is irrelevant as I want the listeners to hear and hopefully embrace the music that I bring to the station.

Join me for some Rock & Roll Gumbo when I am on-air. I will do my best to keep the Schedules page up to date so that the listener's will know when a live DJ will be on-air. ROCK ON!

Lexi

February 17, 1964 was a day that would change the world forever.  It was the day that brought forth..... LEXI!!!  Ok, perhaps it wasn’t that momentous to the whole world, but it certainly was to mine.  I was born and raised in Massachusetts, the youngest of 6 kids.  I am single and I have two of the most beautiful kids you will ever want to know, Elizabeth and CD.  Ok, they’re adults, but they’ll always be my kids.

I started in internet radio broadcasting about 4 years ago on an “alternative” station.  From there I went to a much larger venue and really began experiencing what it’s like to be a DJ.  After that, I opened my own small internet station.  I loved having the station but the bills were getting too big so I had to close it down.  I then started my broadcasting degree where I interned for three months at the Bob Rivers Show in Seattle.  I haven’t completed my degree yet, but it’s still in the works.

I may not be the most knowledgeable when it comes to music, but I enjoy learning about and researching artists.  I love to hear from my listeners, even if it’s just to say hello.  I tend to yack about stupid stuff and babble, but supposedly that is part of my charm.  Go figure!  You never know what you’re going to get when you listen to me.  I am a woman of many moods so tune in to hear them all.  Thanks for your support.

NOTE: DJ Lexi has Retired.
